The One Eyed Horse Farm and Sanctuary is a unique property. You will stay in a historic grand farmhouse from 1820, situated in a farm and animal sanctuary setting.
We rescue our animals from slaughter and we bring them here to live the rest of their lives in a peacful and heavenly setting. Currently our residents include 2 cows, 1 calf, 11 goats, 6 pigs, 20 hens and 4 barn cats.
The animals are calm and friendly and seeing them graze happily on the pasture while you sit at the breakfast table - well in our humble opinion, this is the best way to start your day!
Our guests are pampered with fresh pasturized milk from Abigail out cow, Freedom eggs from Pitzy our hen and her entourage and vegetables freshly picked from our vegetable garden in season.
We offer barn tours to our guests and we encourage the children to pick eggs for dinner directly from the source, to learn how to milk a cow, to pick their prefered vegetables or to simply see there is a wonderful life beyond their smartphone.
As for the house - the former home of Doc Severinsen the American Jazz trumpetier and Johnny Carson's side kick - we kept it mostly intact. We renovated the bathrooms and the kitchen to provide the convenience of modern life. The TV has Netflix, Prime and Hulu set up for your convenience, the WIFI is fast and reliable and the beds... French cotton linen, Luxury pillows and matresses that will make it hard for you to get out of bed in the morning.
Location could not be better - 2 minutes drive to Mt, Peter ski resort, Mountain Creek ski resort and water park - 20 minutes drive. Harriman State park - 20 min. Main st. - 10 min. Legoland - 10 min. Applachian trail - 1 min. Woodburry commons - 15 min.
