Owl - a stylish, modern farmhouse, two level vacation rental that sleeps 11 people. (an additional 4 in the Otter Studio- see below) With 2000 sq feet spread over 2 levels this unit was designed to suit the needs of a variety of renters: from single family vacation use to health and wellness retreats, personal development, leadership training, family gatherings and celebratory events. NO LOUD PARTIES PLEASE.
The main floor consists of a large west facing living room with TV, wood burning stove, cozy and stylish furniture and walk out access to the large covered deck. The east facing side of the main floor consists of the modern farmhouse kitchen with solid oak countertops, stainless steel appliances and ceramic apron sink. The two level kitchen island provides extra seating for four people. The extra large oak dining table can seat up to 12 people making this open concept space perfect for both small, intimate dining to large group dinners. Outdoor dining can be enjoyed on the covered deck with direct walk out access from the dining room.
Dividing the main floor living room and kitchen/dining you’ll find the main floor three piece bathroom with decorative ceramic tile floors, modern fixtures and a stand up shower.
The colourful staircase brings you to the top floor where you will find three bedrooms and the main bathroom and laundry. The first bedroom consists of a queen bed and wardrobe. West facing windows flood the space with afternoon and evening light. Stylish and modern furniture make this a cozy and intimate space. The second bedroom consists of two queen beds, a large closet and west facing windows that again bring the afternoon and evening sunlight into the room. The third bedroom is our “dorm” room with one double bed and four twin beds.
The main bath features modern and stylish fixtures with decorative ceramic tile floors and porcelain subway tile bath/shower. Two south facing skylights fill the room with afternoon light and provide a view of the surrounding forest. The main bath also features the laundry room with energy efficient washer and dryer.
Otter - 900 sq feet of studio space located in the modern, stylish and bright walk-out basement. (Only accessible from outside) This space was designed for a multitude of uses such as yoga, dance and art classes, personal development and health and wellness workshops, gallery space, classroom, lecture hall, etc. It also sleeps an additional 4 people with four single day beds. It features a small wine/drinks bar with a sink, wine fridge, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker and all the cups and glasses required for drinks. It also features a small powder room with toilet, sink and changing area. There are also two large storage closets. The space is climate controlled to allow for the perfect temperature for all uses. Two large ground level west facing windows let in afternoon and evening light, and a huge east facing 9 foot glass sliding door opens onto the walkout concrete patio with views of the surrounding meadows and trees.
Owl & Otter is situated at the top of a shared private lane on a 40 acre property of a 200 yr old farm. While not much remains of the farm, you can enjoy the wild flowers that have taken over the farm fields where the mowed paths lead to the big pond filled with lily pads and frogs.
