The house is a short drive from the BC Ferries terminal at Otter Bay, and is on the water - a small cove that is part of Bedwell Harbour and next to the canal that separates North Pender and South Pender. There is a floating dock at the house that we share with our neighbors. The "beach" in front of the house is accessible at lower tides. The beach at Mortimer Spit is a 10-minute walk from the house.
The house has space for parking 2 or 3 cars comfortably. There is a front patio/deck with beautiful views of the cove, patio furniture, and a propane grill.
Inside the house is equipped with all the necessities, including kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and cooking utensils. There is a TV, VCR/DVD player and WiFi. In a back hallway there is a small laundry room with washer and dryer. A hairdryer and iron are also provided. The water supply for the house is a large cistern, supplied by a well. There is a reverse osmosis whole-house water treatment system, and we provide drinking water in large jugs that fit a water cooler/dispenser in the kitchen.
The lower floor of the house is almost all open concept, which is great for family time together. There is a "living room" section with two leather chairs that look out through floor-to-ceiling picture windows at the spectacular view. An arm chair and a couch complete this area. There is a dining table made from reclaimed wood that seats 10. There is one larger bedroom on the lower floor that has sliding door access directly to the outside deck. This bedroom adjoins a full bathroom.
The upper floor has a balcony play/lounge area with 2 couches. At one end of the house is the Master Bedroom and Master Bath (with Jacuzzi tub and glass-block shower). The Master Bedroom has its own deck. At the other side of the upper floor there are two bedrooms, one with a Queen bed, the other with two twin beds.
We provide linens, towels, and basic supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, dishwasher soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc..
