Whether it's morning coffee on the front veranda, overlooking the ocean, or dinner on the back patio, this property is West Coast living at its best! Surrounded by pretty flower gardens and farm fields, Balsam Beach House is a special place to spend time with friends and family.
Perfectly situated, this property is close to many amenities to keep you entertained. Cowichan Bay village and Mill Bay village boast several restaurants and shops, with boats and marinas. Cobble Hill village offers amazing hiking and mountain biking trails with spectacular views from the top. Also, the city of Duncan is a great place for those that want a more active city experience. If you like swimming, Shawnigan Lake, the Koksilah river and Cowichan river are nearby for those who want to swim in the crystal clear waters of Vancouver Island. Vineyards are part of the landscape and most offer wine tastings, outdoor seating and meals. All of this is within a 15-minute drive.
Guests looking for a larger centre will want to visit the world-class city of Victoria, which is only a 40-minute drive away, with stunning views of the Gulf Islands from the top of the Malahat roadway.
In the evening, soak in the hot tub after a day of sightseeing or rest in one of the many comfortable seating spaces. This modern home is well-cared for and has all of the appliances and extras you'll need to be comfortable, including air conditioning to cool things down during our warm summers.
Balsam Beach House has 3 bedrooms over 2 levels - one on the main floor and 2 on the upper level. There is a 3-piece bathroom on each floor. The kitchen, master bedroom, living room and dining room are on the main floor.
The house has a large outdoor space with multiple seating areas for eating and relaxing, lawns to play on and parking for several vehicles. There is a propane BBQ for outdoor cooking and many beautiful flower and vegetable gardens to enjoy. Feel free to eat from the vegetable gardens or to pick the strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.
The best feature in the area is the sandy beach just down the road. It is a popular public beach park that is well-known for its wildlife and sunrises. Bring a beach chair and sit in the sun with your feet in the sand or launch your paddle board from the park. Farm stands and cherry trees line the quaint roadways and the overall feel of the area is undeniably peaceful.
PLEASE NOTE: Two shy and gentle cats live in this house and will be there during your stay. They are independent and do not need much care other than to check and top up their automatic feeder/water. They have a cat door to come and go as they please and require very little from guests. They can be isolated from the main living space or they can be your feline friends if you want :) Please let us know if you have any questions.
