This clean and casual cottage has a pretty living room with lots of seating, a TV/DVD, and a dining area that opens to the deck. The fully equipped kitchen has extra counter space for kitchen helpers and all you’ll need to cook up a coastal feast—maybe you’ll catch some crab in the bay or find some fresh fish on the boats in Newport. Though there’s plenty to do in this terrific location on foot, you’ll have short day trips galore on tap if you jump in the car—the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Newport’s Historic Bayfront are a half-hour away, and the dunes, Sea Lion Caves, and famous Heceta Head Lighthouse near Florence are a half-hour to the south. In between are dozens of fantastic beaches and forest hikes, plus interesting towns to explore. When you need a rejuvenating and unfettered vacation at the beach, this sweet home has the perfect location and laid-back vibe to keep you as busy or as relaxed as you’d like.
