Positive: The accommodation was a 2 bedroom house with most of the facilities and amenities that you get from that arrangement. That included lots of cupboard and drawer space, large fully equiped kitchen, lounge and dining room. Several large outside deck areas as well as a back yard with heated spa. The mtn views from the lounge, decks and back yard were amazing. There was also access to mtn biking tracks from the back hard and its only 5 min drive into town. A few bonus’s and luxuries included large fridge, large stove, lots of kitchen utensils and appliances, silver cutlery, comfy beds, large TV with host provided Netflix. While we only had 2 guests it would be quite comfortable for 2 couples or even 5 or 6 if using the sofa bed, and for longer stays. As mentioned, mtn biking tracks on the (back) door step, while Fernie ski resort about 10 mins drive away.
Negative: There are no clothes washing facilities on site which may be an issue for a longer stay. There are trains that pass through Fernie several times a day (and night) and for safety reasons they have to sound their horn through town. It’s quite loud and while it can blend into background noise during the day it can be quite noticeable during the night, depending on how you sleep, how close you are to the train line and how sound proof the windows. This could be an issue irrespective of where you stay in Fernie.
