Summary: This is a hotel that could be MUCH better than it is. The rooms are a great size, the breakfast was decent, but they seem to be “giving up”. Each morning I would leave the room and have to walk between two housekeeping carts parked right outside of my room. On each cart was a vacuum cleaner - our room hadn’t been vacuumed in what looked like weeks. The sheets were clean, the bathroom was clean, the kitchen was clean, but the carpets were filthy. This is a simple fix, and I’m not sure why this was overlooked. Additionally, the high dusting had not been done in a very long time as well. We went out on the balcony and had to avoid cigarette butts, and on our reenrry to the room, the back of the tv was covered in cobwebs. This hotel is in a great location for Place des Arts and a decent walk to the old port, but the lack of cleaning, as mentioned by others, is holding it back. The cleaning is the biggest drawback, otherwise this could be our “go to” Montreal hotel for weekends away. Also, the wood furniture is very worn, but they sell touch up markers that could really improve the overall look, and give the furniture an extended life. Just sad to see such easy fixes overlooked.
