It is an apartment on the ground floor of a country house surrounded by a large garden. The apartment is completely independent from the floor of the house. All rooms open onto a beautiful garden with stunning views of the high peaks of Corsica (Monte d'Oro). The garden is cared for and maintained, it is composed of a multitude of flowers and plants: hydrangea, verbena, agapanthus and roses of all kinds. You can eat in the shade of a vine-covered chestnut reeds and you'll nap on the deck chairs under a big magnolia facing the wild mountains. A rattan lounge also allow you to take breakfasts fragrant honeysuckle and jasmine. The house is located Southeast allows maximum sunlight. The apartment consists of a stylish and authentic furniture in a spirit antiques and shabby with old furniture in chestnut and walnut, linen, lace, china and antiques. You will find 2 beautiful rooms which open on the garden, with all the desired comfort; each bedroom has a storage cabinet and the bedding is regularly renewed. The apartment includes a beautiful living room-kitchen very functional: stove-oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee maker ... The living room has a beautiful sofa 3 places and an armchair. There is a bathroom with a shower, and 2 separate toilets. Every room in the house is well heated with efficient radiators for the cool season. There is no problem of space for parking outside the house. The small village of Letia is located in one of the most beautiful regions of Corsica. The village has only 40 inhabitants and is located in the natural regional park. Many rambles are possible from the village. They will make you discover magnificent waterfalls and water holes along the river. The immense beaches of the Gulf of Sagone are only 30 minutes away by car. The beautiful calanche of Piana and the village of Porto are only 45 minutes away. The start of the sublime nature reserve of Scandola, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is only 40 minutes away. The majestic pine and fir forest of Aïtone with its many footpaths and waterfalls is only 35 minutes (travel times vary depending on road traffic.) You will also discover, at the whim of your desires, full of small authentic villages, nestled in the mountains. In short, The village of Letia, is at the intersection between the rugged mountains (Lake Creno, Nino) and the beautiful beaches of the region. Many good typical restaurants you can taste Corsican cuisine with its specialties (fresh fish, meats, cheeses ...) Ajaccio, the imperial city, is only 1 hour away. A Letia, everything is in harmony with nature and where you look, nature is a real show. It is an ideal place to rest, relax, walk, swim. Summary: We have just had a wonderful week staying Chez Marie in Letia. This little village is full of character and just a short drive away from the sea in one direction and some great walking in the other. Although Letia has no shops or cafes, Vico, a larger village is close by for coffees and bread. Chez Marie is a perfect little French hideaway, tastefully decorated, very comfortable and well appointed. In fact, I asked my husband several times if we could just stay for ever! The views from the garden are spectacular and I never got tired of sitting looking at the mountains. Marie also provides some very helpful information on places to go and see, local walking routes and some other walks further afield. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for somewhere to stay in this part of Corsica. It was just perfection.
