Positive: I did a lot of research before choosing a place to stay in Tanzania and came across Karibu Eco Hostel. What stood out for me was that it’s outside the hustle and bustle and has a real local feel. I’m so glad I went with Eco. From the minute I booked, Erick reached out and we spoke for months before I arrived! He helped me plan my trip, gave great advice and recommendations, and put up with my travel anxiety like an absolute boss—I’m sure he thought a crazy person was coming to town. When I arrived, I was blown away. Erick and Jift picked us up from the airport and were so lovely; we felt safe and in good hands right away. The accommodation was everything I’d hoped for and more—I felt immediately at home. The care and attentiveness Erick, Denis, and Jift showed me and my mum was beyond amazing. I honestly haven’t experienced that level of care anywhere before. We all became fast friends and left feeling like family. They showed us around, took us on great tours, and Denis (a total Masterchef!) made incredible meals—though I think he was trying to fatten us up with how much he fed us! We met their family and friends and really felt part of the community. Our room was comfortable, clean, and just what we needed. After long days out, it was great to come back, relax, share stories, have a few beers, and laugh together. The property is surrounded by nature and lovely neighbours who always greet you with big smiles. Couldn’t recommend Karibu Eco Hostel more. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in Tanzanian culture and meet beautiful people, stay here. Thank you all so, so much! x
