Join us at our vibrant hobby ranch, home to a lovable herd of trail-blazing Lamas! Ideal for animal and nature enthusiasts, our cozy south wing suite is two floors and offers a unique experience in the heart of a small hobby ranch nestled in the foothills forests. It’s only a 25-minute drive west of Calgary, minutes to the Kananaskis Country, a 1-hour drive to Canmore, and a 1h50 min to Banff.
You will stay in a 1-bedroom plus 1-den 2-storey guest suite on the entire southern wing of an old 1940s ranch house. The suite comes with your private entrance and a small fenced yard with a covered deck and propane fireplace. Inside, you will be welcomed by a large entranceway, a miniature foosball table and lots of room for your outdoor equipment. The living area, kitchen, dining bar and a second-storey balcony overlook the llamas' pastures and training facilities where you can watch rescues and young llamas begin training as trail companions and packers. You have a dedicated parking space and access to another firepit (wood burning) and hot tub directly in front of your private yard.
Amenities:
- A kitchenette equipped with an apartment-sized fridge, 2-burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, and all essentials (pots/pans, salt/pepper, sugar, teas/coffee, plates/ utensils, toaster, coffee maker, etc).
- A full bathroom offers a bath with a shower. Towels, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and a blow drier are provided.
- High-speed Starlink WiFi and a workstation allow for a comfortable office away from home.
- Bedrooms: one bedroom offers a comfortable queen-size bed and a place to hang your clothes. Another Queen sized bed is located in the den (no door).
- Ranch Vibes - you will be in the heart of a working ranch with regular animal care and training activities involving both llamas and dogs. Look for us on social media or contact the host if you'd like to join in the fun with the llamas.
The property does border the highway so there is road noise and farm activities going on from time to time. For every one's safety, please also ask that you keep your furry friend on a leash when in common spaces.
Upon booking our property, you agree to the following:
1. Noise and Gatherings
- No parties or loud music at any time.
- Respect Rocky View County's noise curfew (10 p.m. - 7 a.m.).
- No unreported visitors.
2. Substance Policy
- No smoking indoors. No use of illegal substances.
3. Dog Policy
- Keep dogs on a leash when outside the rental.
- Pick up after your pet.
- Don't leave dogs unattended in the rental.
- Bring your dog's bed and bowls.
- Add your dog to the reservation (pet fee: $35).
4. Fire Safety
- Check with us for fire bans in the area. Igniting fires during bans incurs a $1,000 Rocky View County fee.
5. Hot Tub Etiquette
- Shower before use. Wear a swimming suit.
6. Wildlife and Llamas
- Don't leave food or garbage outside (this includes a balcony, a deck and the yard) to avoid attracting wildlife.
- Do not attempt to enter the llama enclosure, do not touch, pet, or feed the llamas without explicit permission from the hosts.
- Ensure your dog is well-behaved and under voice control around the llamas. Do not allow your dog to chase or harass the llamas. If your dog appears aggressive or threatening to the llamas, please keep them separated immediately.
