Summary: Host graciously allowed us to check in early. The space is large and was more than enough for our family (6 adults and 2 year old). The listing says “luxury” home. I would say that some aspects of this house meet that description and other parts not so much. The living room chairs and ottoman are badly stained and very dirty. The child’s high hair had a cloth cover that was very dirty and smelled quite bad. This house had a strong odour of what smelled like natural gas to us. The host assured us there was no concern of gas leak but the smell did not go away and it actually caused a headache for more than one of us. Someone else is living in part of this house and this was not stated in the listing. There is a basement access to a stairwell with a curtain and piece of furniture in front of what separates the upstairs VRBO space from the basement, no locked door. This seemed odd to us and was not stated in the listing. There was a camera in the kitchen at the top of the cupboards which the host did not mention. Not sure if it was active but it was unsettling. The yard was unkept with tall weeds so not very inviting to spend time in. Master bedroom was quite nice with tons of storage for clothing. The other rooms had no shelves or chest of drawers. There were closets, but about five clothes hangers in the entire house. We bought some and left behind. The upstairs bathroom smelled like mold. Overall it was satisfactory but not “ luxury”.
