Discover tranquility at our spacious yet cozy log cabin, now featuring an outdoor hot tub in a gazebo, set against a serene forest backdrop. Tucked away for a peaceful staycation or as a base to explore lakes, trails, skiing, and local charms. While we are new Vrbo, our cabin has been a short term rental for the last 2 years with excellent reviews on another site. Our favorite review that we've received multiple times is that the pictures don't do justice to the place and guest loved the personal touches, amenities and outdoor spaces.

Location - The cabin is 15-20 mins to Lake Wallenpaupak, Tobyhanna State Park, Lake Ariel and Promised Land State Park. It's 30-40 mins to Bushkill Falls, Camelback Mountain and Pocono Mountain. Scenic towns nearby include Hawley, Greentown and Honesdale. Within 2 mins of the cabin are two amazing restaurants - Spankys for breakfast and The Hotel restaurant for lunch/dinner plus awesome drinks and there's a Dollar General 4 mins away, and Dutch Market at 6 mins. Within 10-30 mins you can access many more restaurants and breweries in Hawley, Hamlin, Greentown and Honesdale (Boathouse, Gresham's Chop House, Glass at Ledges Hotel, Fairview Cafe, etc). There's even a casino (Mount Airy) within 30 mins. Other local attractions include Pocono Axe Works, Wallenpaupak Brewery, Claws n Paws Animal Park, Wallenpaupack Scenic Boat Tour & Boat Rentals, etc. Newfoundland, where the cabin is located, itself is a cute country town with kind and friendly residents.

Summary: We were a little disappointed with our stay, we have no complaints with the host but with previous reviews. I feel if they were honest, we would've been more prepared. There were many things that we had issue with. We noticed several safety issues, like the refrigerator being plugged into an extension cord that ran over the kitchen counter, we didn't see any smoke alarms or carbon monoxide alarms.Because of this we were afraid to use the indoor fireplace which was also suspicious with which looked like a caulk sealing around it. Also, there were exposed wires from the ceiling in the upstairs bathroom. The kitchen might be considered fully functional but the eating utensils are toddler size forks which made it difficult to eat with. Very limited towels and no wash cloths to shower with. Had we known this we could've been more prepared and brought our own. This cabin photographs very nicely which is why it's important to have honest reviews.
