We finished construction in 2018, this authentic and substantial madrier chalet is located on the ski bus route between Les Saisies and Les Contamines, 1300m from the 12-man gondola La Ruelle of Les Contamines.. Two free navettes pass our chalet hourly, in opposite directions, the second takes you to Hauteluce chairlift in 15 minutes, leading to Les Saisies and the 185km Domaine Diamant, plus 120km Olympic Nordic ski de Fond.
This 175m² chalet enjoys underfloor heating throughout, an open log fire in the living room with leather sofas and a large smart screen for films. Each room has been designed for comfort and convenience – from the bedding, carpets, fitted wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms, sound-proofed walls, floors and ceilings, to the mountain charm.

First Floor: Entrance Hall. Fitted kitchen equipped for 12. Living room with fireplace (a finite quantity of fire wood included - one log at a time is sufficient and safe for this wood stove). Three ensuite bedrooms sleeping two each.
Second Floor: Small Twin Ensuite and Gallery

In the heart of the Beaufortain, a massif offering the famous Baroque trail and beautiful hikes to the high-altitude lakes, between pastures and typical habitats. Come to a wealth of outdoor sports and fun activities offered by the family resorts of Arêche, Beaufort and Les Saisies.
La Ruelle offers free parking, ticket office, ski hire shop, and locals restaurant/bar. The 12-man gondola takes you up to 120km snow-sure skiing in Les Contamines. In five minutes you reach an idyllic sunny beginners learning lift area, with tow lifts and on-looking restaurants. A five minute chair continues up to Col du Joly, with it’s impregnable views of the Mont Blanc Massif. You look back down to the stunning Hauteluce farming community valley of absolute beauty (and sunsets for your ski home).
The state of mind of Madrier
The tradition is there, nestled in the stacking logs. As long as 3000 years ago, wooden houses were being built from tree trunks with the principle of stacked solid wood. Now modernized versions, adapted kit-form to current regulations (RE 2020), have proved an easy compromise - but never the depth and breadth of the real thing - literally!
Is it this ancestral aspect or the love of wood that attracts? Perhaps its warmth and fragrance? The desire to live a little closer to nature? Or all of the above? Because, yes, log is a real state of mind: solid wood that you can see and feel to create a unique atmosphere.

With logs, the constructive principle creates aesthetics. In days gone by, logs stacked one on top of the other would intersect at the sharp corners of the dwelling. The location of interior partitions was also visible from the outside. The solid wood was visible, and this is still the case today, making log cabins so charming.
