Where the La Have River flows into the Atlantic Ocean, “The House, Eh” looks out across a tidal beach and gorgeous sunsets. Peace prevails here, but there is quiet activity from morning till night. On the water, sail boats catch the river breeze and glide out to the open sea. Lobster boats come in from a long day hauling traps. A huge scallop trawler heads out for a 21-day trip, from which it will return with its belly full of the sweetest scallops in the world. At low tide, one of the best kept secrets in Lunenburg County is revealed: Oxner Beach stretches around a point where the river meets the ocean. Kids can swim, dogs can run, couples can stroll.
The main house is furnished with many family antiques and local artifacts. A beautiful east facing deck is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee. At water's edge, a large sundeck, and a screened-in porch provide relaxing spots for both sunny and rainy afternoons. Two bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a living room, a den with 32 in HDTV , DVD player and a large dining room complete the property. At low tide, the beach is revealed and offers a perfect spot for the entire family. The property offers a haven of peace and comfort, space and light, with ready access to the thousand delights of Nova Scotia's South Shore.
The Sister's that own the property have done a great deal of work with the restoration and transformation of The House,Eh with each room having it's own unique personal character. They thoughtfully provide boggie boards for the beach, cabinet full of board games and puzzles . At the front of the property there is a large yard to play badminton, croquet and ring toss . One of the sister's is an interior decorator and has put tons of personality throughout the house, with lots of thoughtful fun color combinations, unique local art, interesting antiques and fun little touches throughout, that she has collected over the years. When you walk though the door you will see all the unique personal touches that make the place special and really feels very inviting with tons of charm.
There are two main buildings to the property .
The main house with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms ( one with large shower, the other with a claw foot tub) large den , dining area , large living room, fully equipped kitchen, side deck with BBQ , table and chairs.
The second building is a charming rustic cabin with a screened in porch and a joining deck. This building is right down by the water. You can sit out in the evening there and have a cool drink and relax watching the spectacular setting sun over Oxner's beach.
