Stunning, contemporary lake house at the water’s edge on Lake Koocanusa, in Wardner British Columbia, Canada.
Floor to ceiling windows in great room maximizes breathtaking views of Lake Koocanusa, the Lizard Range (Lady of the Lake Mountain Range), forests and Bull Mountain.
Fully fitted, gourmet kitchen and eating bar. Appliances include fridge/freezer, convection wall oven, microwave, dishwasher, gas stove and most small appliances. Dining room has gas fire place and welcomes 10 people comfortably. House has 3 interior gas fireplaces, 1 exterior gas fireplace on the deck, and a large open firepit with comfortable seating on the water's edge. Wood, axe and accessories for firepit are provided.
Dine around the extra large table inside, or on the spacious picnic table located on the upper deck outside ...either will seat 8-10 comfortably.
3 luxurious and spacious bedrooms, each with: king size bed, private ensuite bathroom, view of Lake Koocanusa, forest and mountain range, large sliding patio doors, beautifully decorated, TVs with satellite. Primary suite upstairs also has a gas burning fireplace. Fresh bed linens and swim/bath towels await your arrival.
NOW INCLUDED WITH RENTAL: tandem kayak, canoe, 2 paddleboards, water tubes, 2 adult bikes and 2 toddler bikes.
For small children (0-5yrs) we include crib/playpen(s), toddler mattress(es), high chair(s), various toys, games and puzzles, 2 small bikes, blow-up swimming pool, dinner and flat ware, etc. A list of baby/children accessories will be provided.
The walkout level has a pool table, wet bar, fitness room and family/tv/games room with gas fireplace.
You can access the walkout patio area and hot tub from the outside or inside. The hot tub water is changed out before each guest's arrival, with fresh chemicals.
Private dock located directly down from the house on the lake’s edge is yours ...for swimming, sun bathing or fishing. You can tie up your water toys, or use toys provided!
Boat launch is located north side of Wardner Provincial Park/Picnic Area (steps away from house). Lake Koocanusa is 150kms long (+/-70kms on the Canadian side). Wardner is known for great weather.
Many fabulous golf courses are located very close to Wardner ... Check out Cranbrooke, Kimberly's many golf courses, Fernie Golf, Jaffrey's Will-o-Bend Par 3, etc.
This vacation home is located in the historic town of Wardner, BC ...Halfway between Fernie and Cranbrook. For you winter enthusiasts, it's the perfect home base if you want to split your time on the slops between Fernie and Kimberly. There are endless trails in the area for hiking or biking in the area. You can enjoy walking down to the Twin Rocks and pebble beach located on the water’s edge just a short distance from the house, along the mountain base under the cool pines, or through the neighborhood.
Walk out the front door and enjoy a walk around the community, mountain hiking, biking the new trail to Cranbrook. Just a short walk from the house, you will find a fabulous, new children’s playground, baseball diamond and a paved area for playing pick-up floor hockey or basketball.
It is a scenic 3-3.5 hour drive from the Calgary City limit and 35 minute drive from Fernie, BC. Cranbrook BC is about 25 minutes away. If you want to take a trip across the USA border, Euroka, Montana is about 1 hour away.
