Connect with family and friends in our lovingly renovated 5 bedroom home and discover what we love about peaceful Bowen Island. Our school and work schedules are taking our family of four away from home frequently this year, so we are opening up our family home.
We are located on a paved private lane, surrounded by mature fir and cedar trees. A set of stairs at the bottom of the driveway leads down to Bluewater Beach, also known as Crayola Beach - a westside treasure - less than a five minute walk away. Walk five minutes up our lane and straight onto the trails of Mt. Gardner, leading to astonishing views of the Salish Sea. Hunker down with a great book or watch the stars in the quiet that Bowen is famous for.
Enjoy the view of mountains, forest and beautiful westside sunsets from our five different decks. We face Collingwood Channel, Keats Island and the Sunshine Coast to the west, and Mt. Gardner to the north.
Meet in the large, open-concept living and dining room with vaulted ceiling and a modern entertaining kitchen facing west. Kitchen features a 14-foot island where friends love to gather. Two full size fridges accommodate a big shop in town before heading to the Island, or have Spud or Fresh Street deliver. Eat in the kitchen staring at the ocean from the bay window nook, or along the 14-foot island. A glass wall of patio doors spans the large upper front deck, perfect for outdoor meals when the weather is fine .
More patio doors lead out back to a very private 1500 sq ft. fully fenced deck , a hammock in the summer and a propane heater in the colder months. The mature perennial garden is designed to attract hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. Raised veggie beds in season.
The top floor primary suite includes a new, spa-like bathroom with heated floors, large shower, soaker tub and built-in closets. Have morning coffee from the Nespresso and enjoy the view of the mountains on the Sunshine Coast from the dedicated covered deck. The primary bedroom also has a private covered deck and an adjoining flex room ideal for a nursery, office, or more sleeping space.
On the main floor find 4 bedrooms, and an updated bathroom with heated floors and double sinks. One bedroom features its own set of french doors opening to an enclosed west-facing, private deck. There is warm maple hardwood in all bedrooms. Porcelain tile in the foyer, hallway and laundry room handles the indoor-outdoor lifestyle of Bowen.
An additional covered deck is located at the entry to our house, complete with couches, blankets and a propane fire ring.
Extra large machines in the laundry room can handle a crowd.
