Welcome to Sweet Alchemy - A place where you connect with each other and the beautiful, natural world. Imagine... Starting the day with the songs of forest birds while lounging on the screened porch. Later, you head down through the woods to your own private dock where you set off for some kayaking to explore the natural waterway. For dinner, you pack your favourite meal and drinks, then head back to the dock where you take in the glorious sunset and gaze at the sky as the stars begin to glow...
An ideal retreat for two nestled in the forest with direct access to a private dock, kayaks, and a paddleboard. You’ll notice the sounds of the trees as they sway, the birds as their songs echo through the woods at dawn, the haunting calls of the loons at dusk, and coyotes howling across the lake after dark. Sweet Alchemy was designed for comfort and relaxation while immersed in nature’s beauty.
Front Step & Large Screened Room – Includes BBQ, dining table and chairs for two, rocking wicker chairs and loveseat, and a live-edge countertop with propane cooktop. Industrial-style patio lights hang from open rafters to illuminate the space after dark. The screened room faces the trees and the lake.
Main Room – You’ll find a wall-to-wall sectional with lounger, electric fireplace, and baskets to store belongings during your stay. We have a few card games and an old-fashioned radio that has good reception. On those really hot and humid days there is an air conditioner to cool the entire house. There is no television or wifi here - It's the perfect place to unplug!
Kitchen/Dining Area – There are two barstools, large counter surface for food preparation, and storage area under the sink. Appliances include an apartment-sized fridge, full-sized microwave, toaster, and single induction burner. Pots, pans, serving bowls, utensils, and dishes all included.
Bathroom – There is a regular toilet, sink, and shower. Hairdryer available. Towels, as well as dock towels, included.
Loft/Bedroom – A queen-sized bed with a new, high-density foam mattress (purchased in spring 2022). Linens included.
Outside – There is a firepit with two Algonquin-style chairs and an end table. Roasting sticks are available for guests to use. There is also a hammock for two. A drying rack for clothing/towels is attached to the outside of the tiny house. Signs are posted directing guests through the woods to find the dock.
Dock – It extends out into the lake about 28ft and ends with a large sitting area. You can bring your own boat and dock it here during your stay. There is a private boat launch about 2km down the road from the tiny house, where you can put your boat in for a small fee. Our kayaks and a stand up paddle board are available for you to use (included in the rental).
Lake – This part of the lake is mostly defined by a natural shoreline, perfect for viewing wildlife like water birds, beavers, and otters. Because it is a largely untouched shoreline it is not ideal for swimming, however, you can do so about 20ft away from the dock in the channel where the water is much deeper. If you’re an angler, remember to bring your gear – The lake is inhabited by yellow pickerel, northern pike, bass, and panfish.
Guests will have private use of the 2.5 acre property. We ask that you use the designated trail to the dock and avoid wandering onto the neighboring properties as indicated by orange flagging tape. On the property there is a storage shed/container and boat shelter that are not for guest use.
Sweet Alchemy is a true tiny house built on a trailer platform, with approximately 250sqft of interior space. It accommodates a maximum of two (2) guests.
No pets.
The tiny house is inspected and thoroughly cleaned after each check-out.
