Welcome to Prospector's Place Guesthouse, located in the heart of downtown Cumberland, British Columbia in the foothills of the Beaufort Mountains. It is a stone's throw away from world class mountain biking and quaint local restaurants, cafes and shopping experiences. My home (and self-contained guesthouse) dates back to 1904 at the height of the coal mining industry. I have 2 friendly dogs that live on site! Please make yourself at home and enjoy all the Town has to offer!
My home is located in the old part of Cumberland, just off the main street (Dunsuir). The street is lined with a mix of heritage homes and new homes. It is a quiet, family friendly neighbourbood with a mix of young and old. Walk approximately 100 meters and you are on the main street. Love's Ice Cream, the library, Cumberland Brewing Co Cook's Burgers, Riders Pizza, the Waverly and Biblio Taco are just a few of the tasty local flavours you will encounter. Did I mention Love's Ice Cream??!! Take a stroll along Dunsmuir Avenue and check out the numerous retail boutiques or continue on and within five to ten minutes be immersed in the Cumberland Forest where hiking, walking and world class mountain biking trails are abundant. Lots of character and charm abound at Prospector's Place. The guesthouse has been modernized and is equipped with all of the amenities you need to enjoy your stay here.
The space includes a full kitchen with eating area and resting space. The bathroom includes a spacious shower and washer dryer for those muddy days on the trails.
Your bedroom consists of a queen bed with firm mattress, full sized-closet and a small library - we encourage you to borrow a book while you stay with us!
For the creative soul, Cumberland and the Comox Valley are home to an abundance of artist venues and galleries. Stumble upon live music in any of a number of Cumberland pubs and restaurants, check out the pottery studio and take a stroll through the farmers' market on Sundays during the growing season.
Secure bike storage available and yoga mats available for guests who would like to start or end the day with a good stretch. :)
